Mitie has a great opportunity for an experienced Security Supervisor in Manchester. You will be contracted to a minimum of 42 hours a week with a pay rate of £14.91 per hour. Extra shifts will be allocated as the business requires, so you will need to be available Monday to Sunday, plus able to work Days and Nights. You will report to the site's Security Operations Manager. Pattern is 6 days on, 3 off; 6 nights on; 3 off (although this is under review). The vacancy is at a prestigious site in Manchester City Centre, where you would be part of a large security team.

Main Duties
- As the first point of contact to all customers and clients, the Security Supervisor must be geographically aware of their local surroundings.
- There will be long periods of patrolling in all weather conditions, so someone who is not phased by working in an outdoor environment is desirable.
- The Security Supervisor must spot and stop all suspicious sightings or potential criminal activity and retain full control until the arrival of emergency services.
- Report to the Security Shift Manager – record, report and escalations on a regular basis.
The ideal candidate
- The Security Supervisor will demonstrate their character as determined, trustworthy, attentive and approachable at all times when welcoming clients and customers.
- The Security Supervisor will need to be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude.
- The Security Supervisor should be able to work on own initiative.
- Excellent communication skills are essential (written and verbal).
- Corporate Security experience is preferred but not essential.
- Flexible approach to work to suit the business needs.
- Calm under pressure.
- Understand the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law and Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
