About the Role
Mitie is looking for reliable and motivated Custodian Response Officers to join our team in Manchester. This is a mobile role, working across multiple Manchester City Council sites, including parks and key holding locations. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of sites, responding to incidents, alarms and patrol requirements. Based out of Hammerstone Road Depot, you will also support our Community Neighbourhood Services team when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mobile patrols and alarm responses across multiple sites
- Act as a key holder, ensuring secure access and control of properties
- Respond to incidents, including missed check calls and welfare checks
- Complete all reports accurately using systems such as Merlin
- Maintain responsibility for the company vehicle during your shift
- Conduct site visits and officer welfare checks
- Follow all assignment instructions and safety procedures
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (BS7984 & BS7499)
What We’re Looking For
- Valid SIA Licence (essential)
- Full UK driving licence (minimum 2 years’ experience)
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and use your initiative
- Flexible approach to shifts, including nights and additional hours
- Reliable, professional and well-presented
- Basic IT skills for reporting and systems use
- Previous mobile or security experience (desirable but not essential)
