Job Overview

This role supports the effective management of large energy portfolios, ensuring accurate data, smooth supplier relationships, and excellent customer service. Working within the Portfolio Management team, the successful candidate will manage customer portfolios, handle portfolio queries, oversee reporting and data accuracy, support supplier and meter changes, and provide escalation support. The role requires strong knowledge of energy systems, industry charges, supplier management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on delivering reliable insights and a seamless customer experience.

Main duties

  • Lead the day-to-day management of strategic customer energy portfolios, ensuring service excellence and overseeing a team of Portfolio Analysts.
  • Maintain accurate customer portfolio data by coordinating estate, site, meter, and supplier changes across internal systems.
  • Manage and resolve customer queries, data requests, and escalations, ensuring timely responses and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the production and delivery of contractual reports, providing accurate insights and supporting customers with energy spend management.
  • Build strong customer relationships through regular calls, meetings, and stakeholder engagement, coordinating internal teams to deliver effective solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships through excellent stakeholder management and customer service.
  • Strong knowledge of UK energy markets, including transmission and distribution frameworks, renewable energy policies, and industry support mechanisms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access) with the ability to apply strategic tools and data analysis to complex business challenges.

The successful candidate will be based in London, Northampton or another Mitie office, but also be expected to attend meetings at customer sites from time to time. Flexible working from home is available 2-3 days per week at management's discretion.
