ROLE: Multi Skilled Technician

LOCATION: Field based, mobile position covering the Midlands region on the Department for Transport contract

We're looking for a Multi Skilled Technician to join our growing engineering family, providing mobile facilities support services across client sites within the Midlands region on the Department for Transport contract.

  • Role Responsibilities
  • Work to Planned Preventative and Reactive Maintenance regimes for mechanical and electrical equipment, including weekly and monthly planned maintenance tasks such as fire alarm tests, flushing of little-used outlets, water temperature recording, emergency lighting tests and other scheduled works.
  • Carry out plumbing tasks, building fabric repairs and general maintenance duties, supporting mobile engineers and assisting all trades within the team where required.
  • Manage priorities within contract constraints, working within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve set goals while providing job feedback information to the helpdesk and engineering supervisor.
  • Respond to customer needs, build professional relationships and provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all assigned work orders, manage site compliance logbooks, complete RAMS and associated permits, and comply fully with Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

  • NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications in a trade discipline such as electrical, plumbing or mechanical, with previous experience in the maintenance field within a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of SFG20 job plans and tasks, health and safety requirements within a commercial building environment and building statutory compliance.
  • A proactive, confident and driven approach to maintenance and building management, with the ability to complete work correctly the first time and within agreed timescales.
  • Ability to write and follow risk assessments and method statements, provide schedules of works for additional or remedial works, and accurately record work on worksheets and computer-based systems.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence, have good communication skills, be able to work within a team and be willing to undertake further training and upskilling as required.

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety or the environment.
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with the training received.
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line Manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.
  • Take personal responsibility for Health & Safety matters.
