We are seeking an experienced and highly professional Control Room Operator to join our Security Operations Team based at Canary Wharf, London.

Working within the Regional Control Centre (RRCC), you will play a critical role in protecting the client's people, assets, operations, and reputation.

The RRCC serves as a central intelligence and security hub, supporting a UK-wide estate and global travel risk management function.

As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for CCTV surveillance, security monitoring, incident management, emergency response coordination, intelligence gathering, and security escalation.

You will act as a key point of contact for security incidents, liaising closely with on-site security teams, stakeholders, external agencies, and a dedicated threat monitoring and intelligence service.

This role requires excellent situational awareness, strong analytical skills, and the ability to remain calm and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years active experience working within a Security Control Room or security regional Operations Centre environment.
  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence and SIA CCTV Licence.
  • Valid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) or First Aid at Work (FAW) certification.
  • Strong experience operating CCTV and video analytics systems.
  • Strong experience managing access control systems.
  • Excellent observation skills and situational awareness.
  • Strong incident management and report-writing experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training and development.
  • Successful completion of DBS and media screening checks.

Key Responsibilities

  • CCTV Monitoring & Surveillance
  • Monitor and operate advanced CCTV and video analytics systems.
  • Conduct proactive surveillance of key locations across the client's estate.
  • Identify suspicious activity and potential security threats in real time.
  • Threat Detection & Incident Management
  • Monitor emerging risks, threats, and incidents through multiple intelligence sources.
  • Assess security incidents and coordinate appropriate responses.
  • Escalate incidents in accordance with established procedures and security protocols.
  • Support emergency response activities and business continuity arrangements.
  • Access Control & Security Systems
  • Manage and monitor access control systems and alarm platforms.
  • Administer access permissions, access groups, and recertification activities.
  • Ensure alarms and security events are responded to promptly and effectively.
  • Communication & Coordination
  • Act as the first point of contact for security-related escalations.
  • Communicate effectively with security officers, workplace teams, travel risk teams, and stakeholders.
  • Support information sharing and intelligence reporting across the wider security network.
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate incident logs and records within security management systems.
  • Produce detailed incident reports and intelligence summaries.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and monthly system testing requirements.
  • Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with company policies, Assignment Instructions (AIs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Emergency Response
  • Assist during emergency situations and critical incidents.
  • Coordinate with emergency services and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support decision-making by providing accurate and timely information to the Control Room Commander.

  • Experience supporting large corporate or multi-site security operations.
