We here at Mitie are looking to recruit a Business Development Director – Landscaping Services to join the Landscaping Business Development team on a permanent basis. The post holder will own and develop the landscaping sales strategy across Mitie, working on their own sales opportunities whilst managing the rest of the sales team for Mitie's Landscaping business unit. Reporting to the Hygiene & Environmental Services Sales Director, the Business Development Director – Landscaping is responsible for developing and articulating high-quality and competitive solutions to operate sustainable grounds and winter services.
The Business Development Director will ensure collaborative working with their sales team and the wider Mitie team to test and challenge solutions, build commercial offers that will realise Mitie's vision for service delivery, and express the solution in the bid product. Experience in corporate level sales in the landscaping and/or winter services arena is crucial, but full product knowledge and training will be provided for the right candidate.
Main Duties- Owning and developing the landscaping sales strategy
- Ensuring the landscaping sales team have a clear pipeline of opportunities for standalone landscaping and winter solutions
- Developing and implementing a programme of activity to identify and build relationships with key stakeholders and potential customers
- Operating as the sales and business development lead to improve awareness of Mitie landscaping and winter services capabilities
- Maximising opportunities for new business and leading the business development process and negotiations with the customer/client to win profitable contracts
- Source, lead and manage UK new business development opportunities for landscaping and winter services
- Support wider Mitie sales teams in integrated facilities management opportunities
- Acting as a single service “subject matter expert” providing commercial and market intelligence
- Experience of managing a team
- Solid experience of sales within landscaping and winter services such as gritting
- Experience of managing and participating in project teams that work together, adopting project management disciplines
- Proven experience of delivery – strong, consistent win ratios against target
- Highly numerate with the ability to understand commercial negotiations
- A commercial thinker with the ability to understand and guide commercial negotiations
- In-depth experience of devising innovative landscaping and winter services solutions for a variety of organisation types
