We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Estates team at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrical professional who is passionate about delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality maintenance services within a critical healthcare environment.

About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and building services across the hospital estate.

You will deliver both planned and reactive maintenance, support statutory compliance, and help ensure hospital assets remain safe, reliable, and fit for purpose while providing an excellent service to clients, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding, and repair activities across electrical systems and building services in line with contractual and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain assets in accordance with HTMs, HBMs, O&M manuals, manufacturer guidelines, and CAFM requirements, ensuring accurate and timely completion of documentation using PDA technology.
  • Diagnose faults, undertake repairs, and support wider estates teams using multiskilled knowledge while promoting efficient and reliable service delivery.
  • Ensure safe working practices through compliance with RAMS, QHSE requirements, Permit to Work systems, and Mitie's Live Safe procedures, maintaining a strong safety culture.
  • Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with hospital staff, patients, visitors, subcontractors, and stakeholders while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • What You’ll Bring Essential
  • City & Guilds 2360 Parts 2 & 3 (or equivalent electrical qualification).
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an electrical discipline.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent).
  • Experience within a building services or maintenance environment with strong fault-finding and electrical maintenance capabilities.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working within a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of HTM and HBM standards.
  • Experience using CAFM systems and PDA technology.
  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience within a facilities management environment.
  • Additional health & safety qualifications or training.
