The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 £ per year.

Location: BRNC Dartmouth

Shift: 37.5 hours (Shift Patterns between 07:00 - 18:30 Monday to Friday, weekend work may be required)

We're looking for a Lifeguard who will deliver a safe, professional and high-quality lifeguarding service to our customers, including Armed Forces personnel, their families and wider community users. This role involves maintaining safety within the swimming pool environment and supporting the overall operation of the leisure facility. Please note to be successful, you must be able to pass an SC Clearance to work on base.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and good conduct of all swimming pool users by following Normal Pool Operating Procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and lead in emergency situations where required.
  • Monitor pool usage and maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment, including changing areas.
  • Carry out routine pool checks, including water testing and recording results to meet safety standards.
  • Support the wider team with additional tasks and events as directed by the Line Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (in date) (essential).
  • Ability to maintain physical fitness to perform rescues.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with a wide range of people.
  • Proactive, professional approach with ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high standards of service.
  • Previous experience in a similar role and First Aid training (desirable).
