Job Overview

• To ensure the accurate and timely collection, transportation, and distribution of clean and soiled laundry items between the Laundry Store and Changing Rooms across the Sellafield and Low Level Waste (LLW) sites, maintaining service standards and compliance with contractual and operational requirements.
• To undertake and document daily vehicle inspections in accordance with company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements, reporting any defects promptly to the Laundry Supervisor.
• To accurately record vehicle faults and maintenance issues on the designated vehicle checklist and ensure timely escalation where required.
• To safely load and unload vehicles at the Non-Active Laundry, ensuring full compliance with company procedures, site security protocols, and health and safety requirements.
• To safely load and unload vehicles at the Medium Active Laundry, maintaining compliance with company procedures, site security protocols, and health and safety requirements.
• To load and unload vehicles at Changing Rooms across the Sellafield and Low Level Waste (LLW) sites, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, security arrangements, and health and safety standards.
• To prepare and load laundry cages for transportation, ensuring items are handled securely and efficiently.
• To utilise lifting and lowering tail-lift equipment to safely transfer laundry cages between vehicles and designated loading areas.
• To ensure the efficient collection, delivery, and distribution of laundry items between the Laundry facilities and Changing Rooms, maintaining service levels and operational standards.
• To support Laundry Stores operations, including daily stock preparation, inventory monitoring, and associated administrative activities.
• To maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and security within all work areas and during all transportation activities.

Main Duties

Previous experience of stock control but not essential.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Strong customer service and customer care focus.
• Full UK Category B driving licence with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering high standards of service.
