We're looking for a Mobile Electrical Engineer who will undertake the maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical services to a PFI contract for seven secondary schools across Hertfordshire, Luton and Reading.
Role Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance, monthly EML and annual EML tests within contractual timescales, complete remedials following EML tests, and replace lighting including high-level lighting.
- Carry out reactive and emergency breakdown tasks, complete the associated paperwork, make regular updates to the helpdesk team on reactive jobs, and finish tasks within SLA to minimise fines.
- Support general maintenance tasks, assist the team with identifying school damage versus wear and tear, complete damage forms quickly, and support lifecycle planned works delegated throughout the year.
- Participate in the call-out rota at least once per month to provide full out-of-hours cover, and assist other team members as required or as directed by the Engineering Supervisor or Contract Manager.
- Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures, including safe working practices, Health and Safety compliance, accurate work-related documentation, team meetings, training and appraisal activities.
Required Qualifications
- City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, with an NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification.
- PASMA certification.
- Experience of maintenance, testing and fault finding on a variety of equipment, including boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, small power and lighting, where applicable.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices, with the ability to anticipate, diagnose and repair faults.
- Strong customer care focus, good communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to complete essential paperwork accurately and on time.
