We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Lab Support Steward to join a well-established team supporting our client through an integrated laboratory service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working within a structured scientific environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of compliance, safety, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Washing, managing, and restocking laboratory glassware
- Performing laboratory fume cupboard checks to ensure airflow compliance with procedures
- Safe handling and removal of contaminated and hazardous waste
- Cleaning and disinfecting laboratory areas using rotating disinfectants in line with procedures
- Supporting general media preparation activities
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, safety, and GMP compliance across laboratory areas
- Following documented procedures and ensuring accurate record keeping in line with ALCOA principles (Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, and Accurate)
About You
- GCSE/NAT level qualifications in English, Mathematics, and Science (preferably Biology)
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow strict procedures consistently
- A methodical and organised approach to work
- Good communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders
- An understanding of compliance and quality standards within a laboratory or regulated environment would be advantageous
This is a mobile and physically active role which includes manual handling and lifting activities, therefore a good level of physical fitness is essential.
