Relief Security Officer
Location: Knottingley, West Yorkshire
Pay Rate: £12.84 per hour
Mitie is looking for reliable, adaptable individuals to join our security operations at a busy logistics site in Knottingley.
This is a temporary relief position providing cover for holidays, sickness, vacancies, and additional operational requirements. Shifts and hours will vary based on business needs, offering an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking flexible work within a professional security environment.

The Role
As a Relief Security Officer, you will provide support across various areas of the site security operation.
Duties May Include:
- Managing visitor, contractor, and vehicle entry
- Gatehouse duties
- Monitoring site security and reporting concerns
- Completing incident reports and security records
- Verifying bookings and authorised visitors
- Responding to incidents and emergencies
- Supporting the wider on-site operation
- Providing excellent customer service
- Following site procedures and assignment instructions
- Protecting people, property, and assets
No two shifts are the same, and duties may vary depending on operational requirements.
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Valid SIA Licence
- Good communication skills
- Good IT and computer literacy
- Ability to work independently and with colleagues
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable and professional approach
- Availability to work flexible hours when required
Desirable
- Previous security experience
- Gatehouse or reception experience
- Logistics or distribution site experience
- First Aid qualification
- Full UK driving licence
