We're looking for a National Account Director to lead and grow some of Mitie Waste's most strategic, high-value clients. This is a senior role combining commercial leadership, relationship management and operational delivery to drive long-term success.
The Role
- You’ll be the senior point of contact for key national accounts, responsible for:
- Driving account growth, retention and profitability
- Leading commercial strategy and complex negotiations
- Aligning internal teams to deliver a seamless, high-quality service
- Identifying and delivering new opportunities within existing accounts
- You’ll also provide leadership to a team of Account Managers, ensuring strong performance, forecasting and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop strategic national accounts, building strong senior stakeholder relationships
- Define and deliver account strategies aligned to revenue and growth targets
- Lead commercial negotiations (pricing, contracts, service agreements)
- Identify growth opportunities through innovation and service improvement
- Act as the senior escalation point for client issues, ensuring swift resolution
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver consistent service across multiple sites
- Lead, coach and manage account teams to achieve high performance
- Drive continuous improvement using client feedback and performance data
- Lead regular client reviews and maintain strong stakeholder engagement
