Our client is one of the UK's leading high-street retailers, and they are looking for a proactive and professional Store Detective to support loss prevention across their regional store network. This is a vital role within the business, helping to deter theft, identify offenders, and support the successful apprehension and prosecution of those involved in criminal activity.
Responsibilities:
- Observe, deter, and where necessary, detain individuals involved in criminal activity
- Work closely with local police forces and crime prevention partners to stay informed of regional crime trends
- Build strong local networks to identify and disrupt organised retail crime
- Accurately record and report incidents in a timely manner
- Attend court when required to provide evidence
- Maintain stationery cupboards and ensure stock levels are correct
- Report building and maintenance issues and follow through to resolution
- Support space utilisation data by carrying out regular audits
Qualifications and Skills:
- A highly adaptable individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Calm under pressure with the ability to respond confidently to challenging situations
- Experience in a customer-facing role with strong customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (GCSE English or equivalent preferred)
- Proactive, self-motivated, and forward-thinking with a strong work ethic
- Confident, approachable, and keen to be part of a supportive, established team
- SIA licence is essential (store detective experience is highly desirable)
- Strong observational skills and sound decision-making ability
- Confidence to challenge individuals when required
