Mitie is seeking an experienced and dedicated HV O&M Manager to lead the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of inspection, maintenance, remedial works and HV projects across a diverse customer portfolio. You will work within high-tech environments including data centres, industrial sites, commercial estates and grid-scale renewable plants—ensuring exceptional service, compliance and customer satisfaction. This is a key leadership role overseeing a team of HV Authorised Persons and supporting the continued growth of our Energy Networks & Infrastructure business.
Responsibilities
- Operational Delivery & Compliance: Manage and support HV engineering field teams, ensuring safe, compliant and cost-effective delivery of all activities. Oversee all COMA (Control, Competent Operator & O&M) contract obligations. Maintain Senior Authorised Person (SAP) and Control Engineer status, ensuring required training, audits and records remain current. Ensure appropriate safe systems of work are established and followed across all activities.
- Process, Quality & Safety: Develop and maintain O&M procedures aligned with manufacturer requirements, legislation, industry standards and HSE guidance. Prepare risk assessments and method statements; conduct audits and site inspections against QHSE benchmarks. Maintain consumable and strategic stock levels and work effectively with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Planning & Resource Management: Coordinate with management to ensure the correct craft and technical resources are allocated to meet work demands. Manage subcontracted labour when required. Produce regular progress and KPI reports for senior management.
- Commercial & Business Support: Support tendering processes through site surveys, pricing and scope development. Contribute to business growth and provide ad-hoc engineering support across the organisation. Participate in the SAP standby rota and provide initial fault response as required.
- Leadership & People Development: Mentor and guide less-experienced team members, supporting their progression and development. Foster a supportive and collaborative team environment across technical and commercial teams. Comply with all Group and Company safety policies and procedures. Report hazards, deficiencies and incidents promptly. Use equipment and PPE correctly and responsibly. Uphold Mitie's information security requirements and report any risks or suspected incidents.
Additional Information: The role requires travel and occasional overnight stays. Accommodation, travel costs and expenses are covered under Mitie policy. Duties may evolve over time to align with business needs.
Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience working on HV networks from 11kV-66kV (experience up to 275/400kV desirable). Electrical HNC (or Level 3 electrical qualification with significant equivalent experience). Experienced SAP at 11kV / 33kV / 66kV / 132kV preferred. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel). Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to motivate others under tight deadlines.
