Relief Retail Security Officer required for Oxford, Milton Keynes, and High Wycombe areas at £13.97 per hour. Paid breaks are included.

Minimum one year of security experience is required, along with essential retail experience. A full UK driving licence and own vehicle are necessary as travel includes a radius of approximately 30 miles each way. Various shift times are available between Monday and Saturday (08:00 to 22:00) and Sunday (10:00 to 17:00), so flexibility to work any day or time is essential. This position offers a minimum 8-hour contract.

Job Overview: You will provide safety and security to our customer's property, people, and/or assets in line with the published Assignment Instructions, delivering results that meet and/or exceed the Key Performance Indicators. Exceptional customer service must be provided to both staff and visitors, alongside undertaking additional training for continuous self-development, while upholding both Mitie and our client's reputation. As this is a relief role covering sickness and holiday absences, flexibility in working days and the ability to pick up shifts at short notice is required.

Main Duties:

  • Use ASCONE to maintain the security of the site.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the site.
  • Deliver customer service to both staff and visitors.
  • Support the staff with any reasonable requests.
  • Ensure relevant reports are completed for accurate information recording.

Training: You will be required to fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training, as well as undertake additional training for continuous self-development as directed by the Operations Manager. You must ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety:

  • Look out for and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
  • Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss, or damage, using common sense and initiative.
  • Be proactive and reactive when delivering customer service to diffuse situations and avoid escalation.
  • Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and with challenging customers.
  • Complete an accurate and detailed entry of any incidents that occur on the system provided on site.
  • Call emergency services and Control Room to report all serious incidents.
