We are looking for an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer with a HVAC bias, to provide and maintain a high level of building maintenance support to our clients. You will be part of a team of multi‑skilled technical support staff that ensure that the service provided meets the contractual requirements and complies with all relevant regulations and laws.
Responsibilities
- Provide and maintain a high level of building maintenance support to clients.
- Ensure the service meets contractual requirements and complies with all relevant regulations and laws.
- Assist in supervising contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations.
- Maintain a flexible approach to work and working hours (subject to the EU Working Time Directive).
- Prioritise own workload while assisting other engineers and staff with duties.
- Be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in.
- Undertake all facets of maintenance and installation requirements as required in the scope of the contract.
- Ensure day‑to‑day planned preventive maintenance activities are completed in line with contractual obligations.
- Maintain all assets in accordance with the O&M Manuals, alongside compliance with all Health & Safety Legislation and Company Policy (fire regulations, COSHH, safe working practices, PPE, PAT testing, etc.).
- Ensure all building fabric elements are functional and operational within design parameters, carrying out reactive repairs within agreed response and rectification times.
- Ensure all reactive calls are closed out in line with contractual time scales.
- Anticipate, diagnose and repair faults, recording accurately on worksheets and through the computer‑based system.
- Complete any ad hoc duties assigned.
- Ensure equipment and plant/rooms/services are kept clean, safe, and secure.
Qualifications
- Time‑served apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ qualification in Carpentry and/or Joinery.
- Strong knowledge and experience in HVAC systems.
- Commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service.
- Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and building statutory compliance.
- Able to carry tools and equipment by hand of up to 20kg.
- Able to ascend/descend vertical access equipment and work at heights.
- Available to join a call‑out rota.
- Hold a full UK driving license.
