Position Overview
We are looking for a full-time, versatile, and enthusiastic Conferencing Technician at Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, Portsdown West, Fareham. The successful candidate will fulfil a broad range of tasks to facilitate day‑to‑day customer use of a high number of meeting rooms on site and will have the professional capability and ability to multi‑task in providing efficient management. This could include cover for other site Mitie team members and other building management and access control duties.

- Confident, self‑motivated, and able to use own initiative, highly responsive to company and customer requirements.
- Pro‑active and consistent with the ability to adapt quickly to the different needs of the business.
- Experience of maintaining AV equipment.
- Proficiency in the use of workplace IT to a level commensurate to the role (Essential).
- Capability to multi‑task when and where needed, as required by the business.
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
- Flexible approach to accommodate changing requirements and priorities.
- Good customer facing skills and the ability to develop close working relationships.
- Maths and English to a GCSE standard.
Additional Information
- MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required.
- To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain a Counter Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance and 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application.
- All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.
- Proof of right to work in UK essential.
- The Contract operates a 37.5 hour working week requiring an element of flexible output during the overarching service hours of 07:30 and 16:30 Mon to Thu and to 16:00 on Fri only.
- Required to wear approved company work wear.
