Alarm Communication Limited (ACL) is looking for an experienced Fire & Security Installation & Commissioning Engineer to join our established team. This role is focused on the installation, commissioning and delivery of fire and security projects across a portfolio of prestigious commercial clients within the Hospitality, Education, Healthcare and Commercial sectors. Acting as the lead engineer on-site, you will take ownership of project delivery, ensuring systems are installed to the highest standards while providing an exceptional customer experience. Working alongside a dedicated team of engineers and apprentices, you will play a key role in delivering projects safely, efficiently and professionally while supporting the development of less experienced colleagues. Please note: the majority of our project work is based in and around London. Therefore, the successful candidate must be comfortable with regular travel into Central London and across the Greater London area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation and commissioning of fire alarm, CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems.
  • Act as the primary on-site contact for customers and project stakeholders.
  • Deliver projects safely, efficiently and in line with industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical faults on fire and security systems.
  • Complete all relevant commissioning, testing and project documentation.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and apprentices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
  • Participate in the engineering on-call rota following completion of training and probation.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the Fire & Security industry.
  • Proven experience leading installation and commissioning projects.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with networked fire and security systems.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and take ownership of projects.
  • Electrically competent with a strong focus on health and safety.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willing and able to travel regularly into London and surrounding areas.

Desirable System Experience

  • Gent, Advanced, Notifier, Avigilon, Hikvision, Axxonsoft, Salto, Assa Abloy, ACT, Paxton, Galaxy, Texecom and Cortech.
