Pay rate: £16.36 per hour. The role requires a female only, due to the hand searches required for Female Customers who go through the security lane. This is in line with the DfT compliance procedures. Mitie has a great opportunity for an Aviation Security Officer to join the Aviation Security Team at St Pancras Operation and at Temple Mills depot.

Required DS or SG Licence.
Main Duties:
- The security officer will demonstrate their character as determined, trustworthy, attentive and approachable at all times when welcoming clients and customers.
- Polite and excellent customer service at all times.
- Carrying out physical body searches, bag searches, screening hand and hold luggage through x‑ray machine, access control, static post, patrol, vehicle search and other operational duties.
- Respond to any on‑site incident or request for assistance and protect the integrity of the restricted zone until the arrival of the BTP, Client, Emergency Services or Duty Manager.
- Reporting to the Security Duty Manager – must record, report and escalate all incidents using the required process/system/technology throughout the shift.
- It is also important that you are physically fit, as the role requires you to spend periods of time standing, sitting, bending and walking.
Qualifications:
- Valid SIA Frontline Door Supervision or Security Guarding License (essential); CCTV License would be beneficial.
- Colour vision will be tested on site during the application process to verify full colour vision and the capability to perform key x‑ray screening duties and identify threats of various colours.
- Counter Terrorism Check will be carried out after the job offer; the applicant cannot start the shift until the checks are cleared by the relevant authorities.
- A full UK Driving licence would be beneficial.

- You need to be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude.
- Flexible approach to suit business needs and ability to work with different teams as required.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Capability in using workplace software and current IT technology.

- You will also be required to pass through a range of referencing and vetting checks, including a Criminal Record Check.
- You must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years with a 5‑year checkable work history.
