About the role: Mitie Property Services is looking for a motivated and highly organised Site Supervisor / Contracts Supervisor to support our growing operations across the North East, North West and Yorkshire regions. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading property services provider delivering high-quality refurbishment, painting, and maintenance works. You will act as a key link between Clients, Operational Managers, Surveyors and Operatives, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification. You'll help maintain strong commercial performance, support operational delivery, and uphold Mitie's high standards on every site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising closely with clients and tenants to ensure the smooth delivery of projects while making sure that all project specifications and quality standards are fully met at every stage.
  • Working collaboratively with Contract Managers and Supervisors to maintain agreed contract margins.
  • Assisting with the procurement of labour, plant, equipment and materials in line with project needs.
  • Coordinating with Administration to ensure that correct purchasing procedures are followed.
  • Monitoring contract start and completion dates, and submitting extension or delay requests when necessary.
  • Carrying out regular inspections prior to client handovers to confirm completeness and quality of work.
  • Reporting all accidents and incidents promptly and accurately.
  • Ensuring PPE is correctly issued to all operatives and contractors.
  • Confirming that operatives have read and understood site‑specific RAMS.
  • Overseeing workmanship quality and site safety, keeping accurate records and effectively communicating key information.
  • Leading, delegating and supporting operatives on site.
  • Upholding Mitie's Health & Safety and Quality Management procedures.
  • Inducting new employees and supporting training requirements.
  • Promoting strong team relationships and maintaining professional conduct at all times.

Skills and Experience:

  • A good level of IT literacy along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Basic numeracy skills for handling measurements, quantities and other numerical tasks.
  • Effective leadership abilities with strong organisational and delegation skills.

Mandatory Training:

The role requires completion of mandatory training, which will be provided if needed, to ensure full compliance and competence on site. This includes achieving a Level 4 (HNC) qualification in Construction Site Supervision, along with essential training in Manual Handling and Working at Height. The position also requires Asbestos Awareness training to ensure risks are properly identified and managed, as well as a clear understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities.
