Location: South West Acute Hospital Enniskillen (SWAH), Enniskillen.

Role Responsibilities

  • Undertake the operation, repair, maintenance, ad hoc small works and project work in support of the Facilities Management service at South West Acute Hospital Enniskillen (SWAH), including joinery and fabric maintenance to floors, ceilings, fixtures and fittings.
  • Ensure Work Orders (PDAs) are completed in accordance with Company procedures, including Risk Assessments, accurate completion of documentation, and delivery of all work within Contract timescales and quality standards.
  • Comply with all Company Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental policies and standards at all times, actively promoting a zero accident culture and undertaking Authorised Person / Competent Person responsibilities where required.
  • Attend Tool Box Talks, complete all required training, comply with duty rosters and emergency response requirements, and fully participate in promoting a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, operational teams, SWAH and NIHG staff, contractors and suppliers to ensure customer satisfaction and delivery of services in line with agreed targets and service level agreements.

Required Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Carpentry & Joinery, or a completed time-served apprenticeship.
  • Proven experience in joinery works, including the installation, repair, and maintenance of doors, frames, ironmongery, and general fixtures and fittings.
  • Experience of working in occupied environments, with the ability to carry out work with minimal disruption to patients, staff, and hospital services.
  • Willingness to undergo Access NI / DBS clearance, in line with healthcare environment requirements.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in the installation, inspection, and maintenance of fire doors, in compliance with BM TRADA, HTM 05-02, or equivalent standards.
  • Understanding of Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) requirements when working in clinical environments.
  • Previous experience working within NHS or healthcare estates settings.
  • Basic IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office for completing work records, reports, or compliance documentation.
