Job Overview

Part‑time Store Protection Officer at Waitrose Exeter.

Pay rate £14.05 per hour with a guaranteed number of hours per week and permanent location.

The role involves protecting the store, its people and assets while delivering excellent customer service in line with Mitie and Waitrose values.

Extensive training including MAYBO, use of body‑worn camera and incident reporting device will be provided, along with company‑funded SIA licence renewal.

Responsibilities

  • Protect the store, its people and assets, ensuring compliance with all policies, UK law and guidance.
  • Engage with the National Operations Centre (NOC), Mitie management and use all provided technology to report incidents.
  • Complete all on‑site tasks defined in the published Assignment Instructions and review them regularly for improvements.
  • Maintain a valid front‑line licence at all times and renew it 16 weeks before expiry.
  • Undergo all required competency training and pursue continuous professional development.
  • Identify and report health and safety hazards and any potential threats promptly.
  • Maintain professional conduct when dealing with customers and challenging situations.
  • Log incidents accurately in a notebook and submit incident reports.
  • Ensure check calls are made at scheduled times and contact emergency services and the Communication Centre for incidents.

Qualifications

  • Previous security experience.
  • Valid SIA licence.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
