Overview
Job objectives and responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the day to day shift teams.
- Ensuring all planned, corrective and reactive activities are completed on time.
- Supporting root cause analysis and CAPAs for technical activities.
Responsibilities
- Daily attendance at the 0900 / 1630 team activity call.
- Attendance at GSK morning TAP.
- Assigning duties to technicians during shifts.
- Day to day lead of shift team including conduct, performance and capability.
- Taking the necessary and appropriate actions to address any inappropriate behaviour or low standards.
- Hold regular shift team meetings on daily and weekly objectives.
- Providing direction and feedback to technicians during shifts.
- Effective handover with the other shift lead role.
- Participate in work activities, leading by demonstration, and showing them how to do the job effectively where required.
- Assist in training and coaching new employees.
- Providing customer service and managing complaints.
- Prompt and correct documentation of incidents.
- To ensure that communications are maintained between the technical supervisors & client relating to the progress of work orders.
- To perform duties of a person authorised to issue permits to work.
- Identify potential training requirements for existing team in order to ensure any statutory requirements are met and efficient working practices are followed.
- To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required.

Person Specification / Qualifications
- Working well within a team.
- Leadership skills and ability to make decisions fast.

- Able to deal directly with customers in a professional manner and represent the company.
- Able to complete & produce RAMs.
- Able to plan/schedule both PPM & Reactive workload.
- Computer literate - competent in Microsoft Office and ability to work on CAFM systems.
- Knowledge of working on BMS systems.

- Always follow Group and company policies and procedures; report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.
Information Security
- Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities.
- Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager.
- Report actual and suspected security incidents.
