Overview
Credit Controller FTC Gloucester - Full Time 14 Month FTC. We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our dynamic team within Marlowe where you will take ownership of one or more ledgers and play a key role in maximising cash collection across multiple Marlowe Environmental Services businesses. If you thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and enjoy balancing customer engagement with analytical thinking, this could be the perfect next step in your career. This role supports the transition of Marlowe's Credit Control team moving into Mitie's Shared Service model as a 14 month fixed term contract.
Responsibilities
- Managing customer onboarding requirements and assessing associated risks
- Following agreed collections processes to recover overdue debt with accuracy and efficiency
- Working closely with invoicing and portal teams to understand the full end-to-end billing journey
- Leading weekly internal calls to drive query resolution and debt reduction
- Building trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Reconciling customer accounts and understanding posting/allocation activity
- Ensuring customer master data is accurate and up to date
- Monitoring agreed payment plans and escalating issues early
- Ensuring integrity, compliance and adherence to all MES credit and risk policies
Qualifications
- Proven experience working within credit control in a fast paced target driven environment and a strong commercial mindset.
- Be a confident communicator able to articulate account statuses and influence customer behaviour
- Customer-focused mindset with a right-first-time approach
- Curious, proactive problem-solver who isn't afraid to challenge the norm
- Beginner-intermediate level Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data manipulation)
- Experience using customer portals and payment platforms
- Desirable familiarity with: CRM, Sage 200, Sage 50, Xero, Workbooks, Salesforce, Wave, Goldvision, Credit Hound, Credit Safe
