Job Overview
The Electrical Project Manager will lead the delivery of electrical elements across MEP, decarbonisation, and heat pump installation projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to manage projects from pre‑construction through to handover, ensuring high‑quality, low‑carbon engineering solutions.
Main Duties
- Lead the electrical delivery of MEP and decarbonisation projects from planning through to completion, including infrastructure upgrades, heat pump power and controls, BMS, metering, and low‑carbon solutions.
- Plan and coordinate project programmes, resources, procurement, and site activities, working closely with mechanical and design teams to ensure buildable, integrated solutions.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements, promoting a strong safety culture and overseeing testing, commissioning, and certification.
- Provide commercial and contractual support by managing variations, monitoring costs and labour productivity, and coordinating subcontractor performance.
- Act as the primary electrical point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and ensuring client expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager within the MEP or building services sector.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems associated with heat pumps, renewable technologies, and decarbonisation projects.
- Excellent knowledge of BS7671, electrical regulations, and industry best practice.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design information.
Desirable
- Experience with public‑sector decarbonisation schemes (e.g., PSDS).
- HNC/HND or degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
- SMSTS, IOSH, or equivalent safety qualifications.
- Familiarity with digital project management tools.
