ROLE: Maintenance Technician

We're looking for a Maintenance Technician who will support high‑quality service delivery within a healthcare environment.

  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Ensure service delivery maintains statutory, mandatory, and routine compliance at all times, with evidence readily available.
  • Drive continual improvement through efficiency, added value, and best‑in‑class delivery.
  • Positively contribute to account performance across revenue, profit, and cash.
  • Develop and maintain open, honest relationships with key stakeholders, including within the Trust and SPV.
  • Build strong working relationships with Mitie stakeholders and delivery partners.

Main Duties

  • Undertake plumbing maintenance and reactive tasks in a healthcare environment, including mechanical planned and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation where safety and hygiene are critical.
  • Develop and enforce water hygiene guidance, policies, and procedures in line with regulations.
  • Conduct inspections of facilities, equipment, and workspaces to identify hygiene risks.
  • Follow established safety, hygiene, and environmental guidelines.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to strengthen water hygiene standards.
  • Escalate any issues with reactive jobs or PPMs to the supervisor for rectification.
  • Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the requirements below

  • Basic to intermediate IT skills.
  • Level 2 in plumbing Qualification.
  • Experience in acute healthcare premises (helpful but not essential).
  • Strong adherence to Health & Safety policies and permit‑to‑work systems.
  • Ability to communicate, co‑ordinate tasks, and deliver high standards of customer care.
  • Plumbing and mechanical experience required, with onsite training available.
  • Professional, confidential, and committed to further training as required by Mitie FM.
