We are looking for an organised, efficient, and experienced CCTV Operator to join our security team at the National Portrait Gallery. You will be working within a supportive team to maintain and monitor CCTV, intruder, and fire alarm panels. In addition to this you will be issuing staff passes and carrying out some reception duties.

Our ideal candidate will have awareness of the law across the Private Security Industry, Health and Safety for the Private Security Operative, Fire Safety, Technology and Systems in the Security environment and Emergency Procedures.

Key responsibilities:
  • Management of site access control system, including responding to alarms and incidents where required.
  • Assisting with daily operational requirements, ensuring compliance and accurate recording of incidents to outline identified risks.
  • Communicate with operational staff concerning incidents, ensuring that all escalation processes are followed.
  • To support the administration function of the security department.
  • Proactively monitor CCTV systems and identify any threat to staff, visitors or property.
  • Investigate suspicious activity and task appropriate staff to respond.
  • Report health and safety concerns.
  • Ensure all CAA regulations are met and that security meet regulatory compliance while maintaining and operating within their duties.
Qualifications:
  • A valid CCTV Licence and a valid Door Supervisor Licence are essential to this role.
  • Previous experience of working in a busy control room environment.
  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to work competently on multiple systems.
  • Willingness to undergo Known Consignor clearance and training inline with CAA regulations.
  • 5-year verifiable education or work history with references.
