Commercial Plumbing and Heating Engineer – Shift
Location: Liverpool, L122AP. Employment: Full time. Shift hours: 6:30AM – 6:30PM and 6:30PM – 6:30AM (12‑hour shift).
Responsibilities
- Lead planning and maintenance of domestic hot and cold water and mechanical systems (LTHW, CT, VT, piped medical gas and compressed air) on the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital account.
- Serve as the controlling professional for mechanical and water systems, including hydrotherapy pools and microbiological water management.
- Work collaboratively with the estates team to provide full operation, maintenance, engineering and building mechanical services that meet statutory and contractual obligations.
- Perform reactive repair and maintenance of all piped systems – taps (TMT, TMV), heater/cooling batteries, pumps and cold‑water booster sets, pressurisation units and expansion vessels; RPZs, calorifiers and plate heat exchangers; water tanks and valves; commissioning sets; strainers and filters.
- Carry out diagnostic checks and fault finding using multi‑skilled knowledge and experience to support all estates teams.
Qualifications
- Relevant technical qualifications in commercial plumbing and heating – minimum full apprenticeship to level3 or level3 equivalent.
- Solid track record in commercial plumbing and heating systems maintenance.
- Strong understanding of compliance with HTMs and extensive experience in maintenance delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to support estates teams within one’s qualifications and abilities.
