Location: Ellistown, Coalville

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday; flexible start/finish times to business needs

Hours: 40 hrs a week

Salary: 33k - 35k per annum (DOE)

Contract: Permanent position

Mitie have a new opportunity! We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Site Cleaning Manager to oversee the Operational delivery of janitorial services at the site, building excellent relationships with the client and your team whilst maintaining a high-quality service output.

Responsibilities

  • An understanding of cleaning, waste and forklift truck activities.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of site in terms of layout, fit-out, working hours and operating times in order to create and adapt adequate cleaning schedules.
  • Manage all staff on-site, ensuring a consistent delivery of hours, in-line with the site budget.
  • Administer payroll for hourly paid staff both direct employees and agency in-line with company procedures and targets.
  • Create and promote a positive safety culture on-site where hazards are proactively recorded and a lessons learnt approach taken to limit accidents and incidents.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Control of Substances Hazardous to health.
  • Achieve excellent cleaning standards, exceeding client expectations, evidenced through the weekly cleaning standards audit undertaken with the client. Acting upon any potential failings and opportunities for improvement in a timely manner.
  • Drive continuous improvements by seeking innovations, identifying efficiencies and negotiating with customers, staff and suppliers.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels and place orders as required and within the site budget.
  • Ensure all equipment is well clean, well-maintained and safe, as well as it being operated in-line with the requirements of site.

Health and Safety responsibilities

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a Cleaning/Healthcare setting.
  • Experience in Management, ideally of large teams.
  • Someone adaptable, motivated and organised with excellent timekeeping.
  • An engaging and enthusiastic personality with staff, clients and stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness with experience of holding budgetary control.
  • IOSH Managing Safety or comparable qualification - essential, or willingness to complete within first month of employment.
  • Must be able to complete a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service check.
