Pay rate: £18.90 (It will increase to £21.23 when cover supervisor role.)

Role Purpose and Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a shift team within a global command centre, monitoring CCTV, access control, global travel and other protective systems, and acting as the first line response to incidents, including their management and escalation.
  • Identify and elevate risks, threats and other issues which could have an impact on the client's business.
  • Undertake administration of all routine tasks and operational procedures during normal operations and emergency situations.
  • Maintain contact with both the client and Mitie management in accordance with specific and routine instructions.
  • Support EMEA and APAC offices in the management of their responsibilities where relevant, maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in response to all enquiries received by the control room.
  • Monitor global events and incidents through social media, news sources and client applications, and oversee and action first alert and notification responses.
  • Support the client in undertaking regular audits of all security and related systems.
  • Undertake one-off projects relating to the Control Room as directed by the client.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience of control room operations and emergency situations.
  • Disciplined, professional attitude, with clear commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Ability to work within established procedures and contribute positively to service improvements.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including Senior Management and clients.
  • Security systems knowledge and experience, including CCTV and Access Control.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with confidence to engage with a wide and diverse range of people with sensitivity, dignity and respect.
  • Ability to cover the uniformed security officer role at times of operational need.
  • Proficient and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent IT skills and administrative skills.
  • Willingness and capability to undertake training and development to progress into, or operate effectively within, a supervisory role.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development, including completion of role-specific training, coaching and operational development activities.

Desirable Requirements

  • Capability to achieve qualifications or relevant experience equivalent to Level 3 award, for example an Advanced Apprenticeship, BTEC.
  • Supervisory experience, or willingness to develop to undertake a supervisory role including managing others, setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, taking corrective performance action and supervising a team in a corporate environment.
  • Experience of supporting the training, onboarding or development of colleagues within a security or corporate environment.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team through coaching or mentoring others.
