Join us as Senior Facilities Manager at County Hall - a 41,000 m2 flagship site and the highest-profile building in the Essex County Council portfolio. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll drive exceptional service delivery, lead a multi-disciplinary team, and ensure the building operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day FM operations across a large, complex site.
  • Manage an onsite team (FM, Supervisor, 6 Engineers).
  • Oversee PPM, reactive works, soft services, and contractor delivery.
  • Ensure full Health & Safety and statutory compliance.
  • Drive service excellence, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Manage budgets and support refurbishments, moves, and space planning.
  • Lead audits, risk management, and business continuity.
  • Support CSR, apprenticeships, and community initiatives.
  • Oversee all hard and soft services, manage compliance, build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, coordinate contractors, deliver PPM and reactive works, lead audits, manage budgets, and champion sustainability and continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

  • IWFM/CFM or equivalent FM qualification.
  • Good technical knowledge and skills.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH, Asbestos Management, L8 Water Hygiene.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary FM and engineering teams.
  • Strong stakeholder and contractor management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A collaborative, people-focused leader with high standards.
