We're looking for a dedicated and experienced Passive Fire Protection Surveyor to join our growing Mitie Fire Protection team. This role is key in ensuring our fire safety contracts are managed efficiently, compliant with all relevant regulations, and delivered to the highest standards. As a Passive Fire Protection Surveyor, you'll play a vital part in maintaining the safety and integrity of the buildings we protect. You'll work closely with our Operations Manager, Administrative Team, and Director to deliver a high-quality service, uphold compliance, and strengthen client satisfaction across multiple contracts.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conduct detailed fire door and passive fire inspections to assess compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Identify and record defects or non-compliant elements within fire doors, frames, and associated hardware.
  • Carry out risk assessments to evaluate potential fire safety impacts and prioritise remedial actions.
  • Produce comprehensive inspection reports, highlighting findings, deficiencies, and recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and support on fire door maintenance, compartmentation, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and fire safety officers to ensure installations meet regulations.
  • Contribute to training and awareness sessions for building occupants and staff on fire safety best practice.
  • Keep up to date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices within passive fire protection.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in Fire Door Surveying and Passive Fire Protection.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g. CSCS, SMSTS, PASMA preferred; FIRAS accreditation desirable).
  • Excellent technical understanding of fire safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and digital reporting systems.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence (travel and overnight stays required).
