Come join the Tersus Team as a Fire Risk Assessor. Salary is based on your skills and experience, plus a company vehicle. This role is based in Birmingham or the surrounding counties, but we can consider candidates from outside the area provided they can commute.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fire safety risk assessments, fire door inspections and compartmentation surveys in line with the latest regulations.
  • Produce clear and actionable reports that guide clients towards compliance.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders, explaining findings and recommendations with clarity and confidence.
  • Stay ahead of changes in fire safety legislation and industry best practices, ensuring our advice is always the best available.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance our services and share knowledge.
  • Support the business by working flexibly and responsively from the company's office or from client sites as required.

Qualifications

  • A degree or qualification in Fire Engineering or Fire Safety.
  • Registered with the IFSM, IFE or similar competency scheme (minimum intermediate level).
  • Experienced within the fire industry.
  • Proven experience in conducting fire risk assessments, fire door surveys and compartmentation surveys.
  • Strong understanding of current fire safety regulations and legislation.
  • Exceptional communication skills – the ability to engage and inform clients with ease.
  • A proactive, problem‑solving mindset that helps you identify potential hazards swiftly.
  • A valid driving licence, as this role involves visiting various sites.
  • Enthusiasm for continual learning and professional growth.

Location: Ideally, you will be based in Birmingham or surrounding counties, but we are happy to consider applicants from outside these areas who are comfortable with commuting. Salary: Pay to match your skills and experience, plus company vehicle.
