Day Cleaner / Janitor – EY (Ernst & Young)
Mitie are looking for a reliable and hardworking Day Cleaner/Janitor to join our team at EY. This is an important customer-facing role where you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and clients throughout the working day.
Main duties will include maintaining office areas, meeting rooms, kitchens, washrooms, reception areas, and communal spaces to a high standard. You will be responsible for carrying out regular cleaning tasks, replenishing consumables, responding to spillages or cleaning requests, waste management, and ensuring all areas remain presentable throughout the day.
The successful candidate will be proactive, able to work on their own initiative, and have a keen eye for detail. You will be expected to follow health and safety procedures at all times, use cleaning equipment and chemicals correctly, and communicate professionally with both colleagues and customers.
Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, be dependable, and have a positive attitude towards delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness of offices, meeting rooms, kitchens, washrooms, and communal areas.
- Carry out regular inspections and touch-point cleaning throughout the day.
- Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand sanitiser.
- Collect and dispose of waste and recycling in line with site procedures.
- Respond promptly to cleaning requests and spillages.
- Report maintenance issues or health and safety concerns to management.
- Follow COSHH and Health & Safety guidelines at all times.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional appearance.
