Job Objectives and Responsibilities
The position of Mobile Area Supervisor will support the business by ensuring the effective delivery of security operations across multiple sites. You will conduct regular mobile patrols at your designated sites, respond promptly to incidents and ensure they are logged and accurately documented. You will be a visible presence to deter potential threats, addressing security risks and suspicious activity and you will always carry out your role with sensitivity and respect towards cultural and religious practices.
Main Duties
- Be aware of and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, relevant legal and regulatory requirements, UK law, and guidance bodies (SIA).
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties as defined by role specifications.
- Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
- Induct and train staff.
- Ensure site officers are trained and compliant, testing knowledge and ability.
- Ensure patrols are carried out as stipulated within the AI's.
- Complete site visits as required.
- Support sites with investigations and reports.
- Escalate incidents/issues where required.
- Conduct site compliance audits.
- Complete daily logs and reports, and vehicle inspections.
Training
- Complete all required competency training, MITIE and TMC training as and when required.
- Undergo additional training directed by the Line Manager to ensure continuous self‑development.
Requirements
- A full driving licence (vehicle will be provided).
- Strong experience within the security industry.
- SIA licence.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Good report‑writing skills.
- Ability to learn various Mitie systems and implement that knowledge and training.
- Maintain a friendly approach to staff while preserving a managerial outlook.
- Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
- Renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
- Flexibility to travel outside your designated area on an ad hoc basis in response to critical areas, as the business requires.
Security and Health & Safety
- Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health, safety, or the environment.
- Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take appropriate action to reduce risk of disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations.
- Complete an accurate, detailed report promptly after any incident.
- Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
What We Are Looking For
- Previous security experience as a lead security officer, team leader, supervisor level, or site management (desirable).
- SIA licence – front line SG/DS/CP, CCTV desirable.
- EDBS required or the ability to obtain EDBS; this is a requirement for the position.
- Good literacy and communication skills, and excellent verbal and written English.
- Computer and software literate.
- Reliability, self‑motivation, and ability to use your initiative and work without supervision.
- Ability to solve problems, make decisions and prioritise.
- Ability to transfer self‑motivation to staff.
- Diplomacy and tact to deal with people at all levels.
- Self‑confidence and an interest in self‑development.
- Interest in continuous improvement of the company’s performance.
- Essential that the post holder maintains an excellent record of attendance and timekeeping.
