Part Time contracts between 20 - 30 hours per week. Campsfield IRC is due to open soon as the UK's first all-electric Immigration Removal Centre. We are looking for respectful, diligent and caring colleagues to join our team.
Responsibilities
- To provide a hair-cutting and barbering service to residents which reflects the cultural needs of the population and is in accordance with contractual, safety and security standards.
- Provide hair-cutting and barbering services ensuring that skills are current and updated in line with industry standards.
- Promote the services offered and manage a booking system for all residents to enable fair access to the services.
- Manage the environment ensuring maintenance and security of tools and equipment at all times to relevant standards.
- Maintain the workspace ensuring it is clean and tidy at all times.
- Create and maintain a safe, secure, positive and friendly environment where residents feel welcomed and respected.
- Ensure the completion of all documentation and administration in line with company policies and any external agency requirements so that accurate, compliant data is maintained and provided.
- Use all resources effectively to ensure quality of service and value for money.
- Advise on equipment and purchases necessary to meet contractual requirements.
- Supervise and coach resident barbers to help develop their skills and ensure safety and security.
Person Specification
Essential
- This role requires the ability to deliver a range of hairdressing and barbering styles.
Desirable
- Experience of delivering relevant workshops/training.
- Experience within the custodial setting.
- Experience of working with ESOL learners would be advantageous and a patient and understanding attitude to the language problems faced by learners is essential.

You must be eligible for CTC clearance. You must hold a valid British passport or an EU passport with a share code. Additionally, you must have lived and worked in the UK for at least 3 years, without any extended trips overseas. Applicants must have no criminal convictions and must not be subject to any ongoing police investigations.
