Are you a professional and flexible Security Officer looking for a varied and rewarding role? Mitie Security is recruiting a Security Support Officer to provide cover across multiple client sites in the Midlands. What You'll Be Doing
- Providing security cover across a variety of sites including retail, corporate, and industrial locations
- Conducting regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety
- Monitoring CCTV systems in line with legal and company procedures
- Managing access control, including issuing passes and verifying identification
- Greeting visitors, contractors, and staff in a professional manner
- Responding to alarms, incidents, and emergencies quickly and effectively
- Writing clear and accurate incident and shift reports
- Escalating issues to supervisors, clients, or emergency services when required
- Ensuring all security procedures and assignment instructions are followed
- Locking and unlocking buildings and securing premises
- Performing key holding and alarm response duties (where required)
- Supporting health & safety compliance and reporting hazards
- Carrying out bag searches and vehicle checks (where applicable)
- Assisting with crowd management and conflict resolution
- Acting as a visible deterrent to theft, anti-social behaviour, and security breaches
- Supporting front-of-house and reception duties when needed
- Adapting quickly to new sites, teams, and client requirements
- Maintaining high standards of professionalism, appearance, and conduct
- Using IT systems for reporting, logging, and communication
- Working both independently and as part of a wider security team
- Providing exceptional customer service at all times
- Representing Mitie and our clients in a positive and professional manner
What We're Looking For
- A valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervisor) – essential
- A flexible and reliable approach to work
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – strongly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations
- Good observational and problem-solving skills
- A professional, confident, and customer-focused attitude
- Willingness to travel between sites as required
- Basic IT skills (incident reporting, emails, systems use)
- Previous security experience – desirable but not essential
