This role requires flexibility to travel, as duties will cover various DWP sites within the region (East Midlands).
- A full UK driving licence is required.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security threats.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies or suspicious situations.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service and assist staff and visitors with any security-related matters.
- Perform routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
- Comply with Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Security and Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Identify and immediately report any health and safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
- Remain vigilant to any threats or changes within the work environment and take the appropriate action to minimise the risk of disruption, loss, or damage.
- Exercise sound judgement and initiative by immediately escalating situations that appear to be escalating or threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct when faced with difficult situations and challenging individuals.
- Maintain accurate, detailed notebook entries as soon as possible following any incident, which will be used as part of the incident reporting process.
- Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
- Contact emergency services and the Communications Centre to report all incidents.
- Previous security experience
- SIA licence required; Door Supervisor licence preferred
- Full UK driving licence required
