Overview

About the Role: Mitie manages the Hard Facilities Management for Alder Hey Children\\\'s Hospital as part of a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract that began in 2015 and runs for 30 years. This means we are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the main hospital buildings - and as an apprentice, you\\\'ll play a key role in keeping vital systems running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Developing core skills and knowledge to install, maintain, and repair plumbing and heating systems in a non-domestic environment.
  • Carry out preparatory work for the installation of non-domestic plumbing systems.
  • Install, test, and commission non-domestic plumbing systems in line with design criteria, manufacturers\\\' guidance, regulatory requirements, and industry-recognised standards.
  • Perform routine service and maintenance procedures on non-domestic plumbing systems.
  • Carry out fault finding, diagnosis, and rectification on non-domestic plumbing systems.
  • Assisting with planned routine maintenance as well as reactive repair tasks.
  • Collaborating with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience and learn industry best practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, making safety and sustainability a priority in every task.

Apprenticeship details

As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a Level 3 Plumbing and Heating Technician qualification (Non-Domestic Plumbing Technician pathway) with Liverpool College, which normally runs for four years. You will receive 1-2-1 advice and support, access to e-learning materials, and guidance from a whole team of experts on hand for technical knowledge at your site. Our dedicated Apprenticeship Team will support you every step of the way, helping you make the most of your opportunities and to achieve the goals you already have - and those you have yet to discover.
