We are presently seeking a qualified Service Engineer to join our professional team. In response to anticipated growth and expansion, there may be a requirement for assignments throughout Europe. This challenging and varied role encompasses travel and periods working away from home; a company vehicle and appropriate accommodation will be provided.

Knowledge of process plant operations would be beneficial, as would demonstrable experience working with some or all of the following: rotating machinery, pumps, decanter centrifuges, belt presses, and filter presses, although comprehensive training will be provided. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, well-organised, computer literate, confident, and reliable, with a commitment to continuous professional development.

Person Specification
  • Field Service Engineer, professional and organised, having completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent formal training programme.
  • Familiar with industrial installation and control systems.
  • Competent in conducting basic fault diagnosis in control panels (electrical qualifications advantageous).
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK.
  • Familiar with PLC/Microprocessor control systems and Star/Delta or inverter motor drive technologies up to 150 kW.
  • Process experience within the water/wastewater or process/manufacturing sectors.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and participation in an on-call rota (currently 2 in every 10 weeks).
  • Customer-focused professional, capable of communicating effectively at all levels and establishing trust and credibility with clients.
  • Computer and general literacy; proficient in preparing service and visit reports using MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence essential.
Key Responsibilities
  • Installation, operation, and maintenance of our range of mobile processing equipment.
  • Execution of service contracts for customers' installed plant.
  • Addressing mechanical breakdowns and conducting workshop repairs as required.
  • Extensive travel, predominantly UK-based with occasional international assignments.
  • Servicing and installation of equipment at the SludgeTEK workshop facility.
  • Supporting the sales department during customer visits.
  • Supervision and training of subcontracted personnel.
  • Preparation of risk assessments and method statements prior to undertaking service assignments.
  • Participation in call-out rota and occasional weekend working.
