Security Officer Job Description
To protect our customer\’s property, people, and assets by providing security services in accordance with the published Assignment Instructions (AI\’s) and any subsequent updates.
Deliver results that meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreements to ensure customer satisfaction and contract retention.
Undertake ongoing training for continuous self-development.
Main Duties
Operations
- Ensure compliance with all policies, legal, and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
- Complete all tasks on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI\’s).
- Review and familiarize oneself with any updates to the AI\’s and suggest improvements where appropriate.
- Maintain compliance with Industry and Statutory Legislation, including holding a front-line licence in Security Guarding or Door Supervision, and a CCTV PSS SIA Licence. Additional contractual courses are also required.
- Follow legal obligations and safety requirements diligently.
- Adhere to instructions and procedures without unnecessary challenge.
- Work systematically and methodically.
Training
- Complete all required competency training satisfactorily.
- Engage in additional training for self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
- Utilize technology to meet work objectives and enhance professional knowledge through continuous development.
- Ensure your licence is renewed at least 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
- Report any hazards or potential hazards on site immediately.
- Stay alert to threats or changes in the environment and respond appropriately to prevent disruption, loss, or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative, involving others if a situation becomes threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct during challenging situations and with difficult customers.
- Record incidents accurately and promptly in the notebook for subsequent incident reporting.
- Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
- Carry out check calls at scheduled times as per AI\’s.
- Report all incidents to emergency services and the Communication Centre.
