We are looking for a QHSE Manager who will support the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of operations across Mitie and Marlowe Environmental Services, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards, client expectations, and business objectives.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support management to ensure all operations are delivered safely and efficiently in line with QHSE standards.
  • Implement and maintain the integrated business management system, ensuring compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental accreditations.
  • Identify and minimise risks to people, property, and the environment.
  • Lead and support QHSE activities including audits, investigations, meetings, and training.
  • Work closely with operational teams to develop safe working practices and ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and industry codes of practice.
  • Provide guidance and advice to operational managers and employees on all QHSE matters.
  • Carry out risk assessments including COSHH, DSE, and significant risk assessments.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and insurance-related events, producing reports and performance data.
  • Deliver QHSE training, mentoring, and coaching to operational teams.
  • Drive the Mitie LiveSafe safety culture through engagement and communication initiatives.
  • Support contract mobilisation, ensuring all compliance documentation and training requirements met.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure QHSE strategies align with business and contractual needs.
  • Produce QHSE reports for senior leadership within agreed timeframes.
  • Attend operational and strategic client meetings and support performance improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) – essential.
  • Working towards Grad IOSH / Tech IOSH – desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental management, risk assessment, and safety compliance.
  • Experience within facilities management (hard or soft services) or similar multi-site environments.
  • Understanding of water safety, asbestos safety, and working at height.
  • Proven auditing experience with strong report writing capability.
  • Experience working within a client-facing, commercial environment.
  • Ability to deliver training and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Full UK driving licence.
