Role Overview

The Design Coordinator will act as a key link between departments, ensuring smooth communication and coordination throughout the design process. The role involves reviewing and amending design documentation in PDF and AutoCAD formats, supporting engineers in delivering security system projects, and assisting with design procedures in collaboration with clients and fellow designers. Occasional site visits will be required to conduct surveys and gather design data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively between design, engineering, and project teams.
  • Amend and update design drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and PDF tools.
  • Support engineers with design development and project delivery.
  • Assist in preparing design packages and ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Attend site surveys and liaise with clients to confirm design requirements.
  • Create and manage TQs and RFIs.
  • Populate and maintain registers including TRR and CDM.
  • Review internal and 3rd party design drawings and documents.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in CNI or utilities (instrumentation, electrical, civils).
  • Previous design experience in the security industry (Access Control, CCTV, Intruder Systems).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and document editing tools.
  • Strong understanding of design procedures and ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel for site survey.
