Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for the DWP staff, visitors, and property.
- Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
- Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors with any security-related matter.
- Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
- Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Look out for and immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
- Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative; immediately involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
- Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry promptly after any incident to support the Incident Report process.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
- Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Qualifications
- Previous security experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- DS Licence (preferred).
