Job Overview

Protect customers' property, people and assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site's published Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and any subsequent changes. Deliver results that meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreements for the customer, ensuring full responsibility and accountability to aid in the retention of the contract. Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development.

Main Duties

  • Operations
    • Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
    • Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions.
    • Proactively review the published Assignment Instructions, familiarise yourself with any changes, and suggest additional amendments that will improve the level of service.
    • Be compliant with industry and statutory legislation, ensuring you hold a frontline licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision and a CCTV PSS SIA licence; renew licences 16 weeks before expiry.
    • Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
    • Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
    • Work systematically, methodically and in an orderly manner.
  • Training
    • Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
    • Undertake additional training as directed by the Security Account Manager.
    • Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.
    • Ensure your licence is renewed 16 weeks before expiry.
  • Security and Health & Safety
    • Look out for and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
    • Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
    • Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears threatening.
    • Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
    • Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries as soon as possible after any incident for the Incident Report process.
    • Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
    • Ensure call‑outs are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
    • Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
