As a certified nurse or paramedic, you will deliver health care within the criminal justice system, supporting some of society's most vulnerable individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve in custody suites, delivering healthcare to detainees.
- Ensure the safety of detainees with round-clock coverage in line with the agreed schedule.
- Work with police and other healthcare staff across regional custody suites and force area.
- Provide high-quality care in an acute environment, while working under pressure and managing diverse clinical situations.
- Adhere to shift patterns and roster requirements, including night shifts and optional bank or part-time work with full shifts.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered nurse (RN) or registered general nurse (RGN) or registered midwife (RMN) with dual registration, minimum 2 years post-qualification (Band 5 minimum).
- Paramedic with at least 2 years post-qualification.
- UK registered with NMC/HCPC; driving licence; UK British passport or ILR for 3 years, no gaps beyond 3 months.
- Must have right to work (RTW) in UK; all candidates subject to police vetting.
Working Hours & Pay
- £41,000 per annum plus £1,000 bonus after 12 months of service (£500 for part-time).
- Average estimated overtime £3,500 per annum.
- Full-time: fixed shift rota of 4 shifts on and 4 days off (06:45-19:00 for 2-day shifts, 18:45-07:00 for 2-night shifts).
- Part-time: fixed shift rota of 6 days on, 8 days off, 2 nights, 4 days off. Rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
