Systems Design Engineer

Role Overview
As a Systems Design Engineer at Mitie, you will be responsible for the design, costing, and proposal development of complex integrated life safety and electronic security systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design detailed integration security system designs and cost estimates based on client requirements.
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations and tender documents.
- Review client specifications, drawings and site conditions to ensure compliance with standards.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams, clients, consultants, suppliers and contractors.
- Conduct site surveys and attend client meetings across the UK as needed.
- Ensure all designs comply with Mitie\’s quality, health & safety, and regulatory policies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in fire and security systems engineering/design.
- Strong knowledge of technical and regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in CAD software and design tools.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with ISO9001, SSQS101, FSQS121 quality systems.
- Strong problem‑solving and time‑management abilities.
