Job Overview

Our client is the UK\’s leading high street retailer. As a Store Detective, you will operate across their stores, using your observation skills to prevent theft. Your work is crucial in identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting criminals targeting our client.

Main Duties

  1. Observe, deter, and arrest individuals involved in criminal activity in line with the Theft Act.
  2. Follow the ASCONE process.
  3. Collaborate with SOC CCTV operators to identify and stop offenders.
  4. Liaise with police and crime prevention partners to stay updated on local crime trends.
  5. Build local networks to identify and disrupt crime.
  6. Report incidents accurately and promptly.
  7. Occasionally attend court to provide evidence.

What We Are Looking For

  1. Adaptability, as no two days are the same.
  2. Ability to remain calm under pressure and react quickly.
  3. Experience in a customer-facing role with strong customer service skills.
  4. Good communication skills (written and verbal), preferably with GCSE English or equivalent.
  5. Proactive, forward-thinking, and eager to improve practices.
  6. Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a desire to learn.
  7. Outgoing personality and team-oriented mindset.
  8. Must be SIA licensed; store detective experience is a plus.
  9. Exceptional observational skills and decision-making ability.
  10. Confidence to challenge when necessary.
