As a Trainee Kitchensafe Engineer, you will be trained to install, maintain, and service Kitchensafe fire safety systems for clients across the UK. This is an entry-level opportunity with full training provided, ideal for starting a long-term career in fire safety engineering. You will work alongside experienced engineers and gradually build the skills and confidence to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of Kitchensafe systems under supervision
  • Learn to carry out basic fault finding and diagnostics, with full training and support
  • Support engineers during site visits and installations
  • Participate in a 1-in-4 call-out rota, ensuring prompt and reliable service
  • Communicate professionally with on-site teams, concierges, and building management
  • Accurately record work completed using a PDA system (training provided)
  • Travel to sites across the UK with support and planning from the team
  • Be flexible to stay away from home occasionally, with accommodation and expenses covered
Qualifications & Qualities
  • Background in a maintenance, facilities, construction, electrical, mechanical, or engineering environment, with experience using tools and attending site visits
  • Comfortable working in live environments and following site rules, permits, and safety procedures
  • Basic knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems is advantageous but not essential — full training will be provided
  • Strong attention to detail when assisting with installations, servicing, and inspections
  • Ability to complete work to a high standard and follow procedures correctly
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn new technical skills
  • Structured, methodical approach; able to follow instructions and technical guidance
  • Effective workload management, including travel between sites and meeting deadlines
  • Professional when dealing with customers, concierge teams, and site management
  • Ability to work independently (once trained) and as part of a team
  • Problem-solving initiative and appropriate escalation when needed
  • Calm, professional, and safety-focused in pressurised or unfamiliar environments
  • Clear and professional communication with engineers, supervisors, and customers
